Dell G5 5587 Overheating problem
Dear Dell, Please fix the G5 5587 overheating problem. The laptop is just burning. My brand new Dell G5 5587 (i7, 32RAM, GTX-1060MaxQ, 512SSD, 4K...) CPU is heating up to 99C just after 5 minutes playing GTAV on standard settings. All software is up to date. I also use the cooling pad.... which is just useless cz the fans inside the laptop aren't running fast enough.

Try some undervolt with Intel XTU, I've got -10 degrees on my processor (Intel i5 6300H in a Dell 7559). It's totally risk-free and it won't void your warranty. If it's not enought try replacing thermal paste, I you do it right it won't void your warranty.

Hi ASTP, thanks for the advice!
Actually, I have already found a solution.
All the was needed is to switch thermal management to "Cool" in the Dell Power Manager. Now I can peacefully hear my fans working and the system is 50-60, max 70 degrees. So I think that's okay now.
And for other people who are also freaked out about all those cooling issues, I'd recommend:
OPEN DELL POWER MANAGER - SWITCH THERMAL MANAGEMENT TO "COOL"

This will not work since the laptop will not run at their full potential when playing games and will cause stuttering.

Dear Dell people,
I'm looking to buy a gaming notebook. Since the 2019 models of the G3 and G5 still have heating problems you lost in me a customer. Those machines look great in design and have an awesome price/performance, especially during the Black-Friday/CyberMonday days. But 99-100° at full load and throttling is an ABSOLUTE NOGO.
tell your supervisors and engineers to fix your devices! you are losing money!

without performance or frame drops?
why is it we have to tweak the out of the box product to get it run properly?
