Thank you for the answer, I already found this piece of info in the specifications manual. The thing is I don't know which m.2 port I have or to be more specific if I replace the 128 gb hyninx one with a Samsung 970 EVO 1 TB M.2 ssd would it work?
If it is of any help of you, I 've just installed a Samsung 970 pro nvme (512GB) on my G5, after I upgraded the bios version to the latest one (version 1.10, just to be sure), and it works without changing anything on the bios. I still have to do some tests on the speeds though, but it seems fine.
I am also on the same stage and confused for the 2 ports on the board for nvme . If it is like this so can we install 1 more with the factory fitted nvme 128 gb Hynix or there is only 1 slot in total for nvme. pls explain . Samsung 500gb pro or Western Digital WD Black SN750 500GB 3D NAND M.2 2280 Early answer will be highly appriciateable
Hi i have the same model and have just bought a 970 evo nvme. How did you install please?. Did you have to use a external drive adpater?if so which one please?
just for the infos. I habe a G5 5590 and replaced my 512GB nvme with a samsung evo 970 2TB nvme and it works without a problem. Made an image of the old one to usb drive, replaced the disk and restored the image.
I see that you installed the 2TB. But, did your model come with a data drive? If so, how large is it? I'm considering striping my drive to overcome NTFS primary drive data limits and could use some info. Whatever you can tell me would be much appreciated.
