Dell G7 Fan that never stops
Why do the fans in my G7 go flat out when the laptop is idle. The G7 stays in sleep mode and every morning i wake up to hear the fans going flat out when nothing has been running for hours. The only way to stop it is to restart the laptop and this doesn't always work as it will restart with the fans going full speed. Is this normal?

There is no more sleep mode, it is modern standby. Any movement will cause it to wake up and the fans come on.

The question you can answer is why the fans operate at high speed when there is little to no processing happening.
PS - my windows 10 has sleep mode, do i need an upgrade?

If the computer is in sleep mode the fans will run if the system reaches a certain temperature. Click the link below for troubleshooting fan issues.
