Dell Inspirion 15 3000
My laptop will turn on, but each time it either says "unable to install storage" or it will turn on, be used for a minute, and crash without any thing even open, it will even get to the point where it starts lagging out, freezing up, and then crashing, any solutions that don't involve a hard reset?

Please list exact model number and version of windows.
Example: Dell Inspiron 15 3543 (3000 series), windows 10
If you don't know, enter service tag number ( or use the Detect PC) onto link below. After, you should see exact Dell model number in your Dell Product Support page.

In the meantime, the message "unable to install storage", do you mean " insufficient storage" ?

Also try to run Dell Preboot Diagnostic to check Hard drive and other Hardware within the computer by following steps below:
1. Power off system
2. Power on system, quickly start tapping F12 key continuously until you see Preparing One Time Boot menu in top right corner of screen. In Dell Preboot menu, select Diagnostic. After quick tests, select Hard drive, and then Thorough Test Mode. Report back any error code.

I am hoping that it isn't one of those laptops with the limited 32 GB or 64 GB eMMC hard drives.
