Error on Inspiron 15 5510 specifications?

Hi everyone,

New to community, kindly excuse any errors in posting.

Recently purchased an Inspiron 15 5510 (i5 11320H) and made the following storage upgrades:

  • Moved original SSD (Samsung PM991a Gen3x4 256GB) from NVMe M.2 slot 1 to slot 2
  • Installed a new SSD (Samsung 980 Gen3x4 500GB) in NVMe M.2 slot 1

As per manual, both NVMe M.2 slots on this laptop support only Gen3x2 transfer mode, spec sheet screenshot below:

After upgrades, while checking SSD speeds, I noticed that SSD in slot 1 was getting Gen3x4 speeds and that in slot 2 was getting Gen3x2 speeds. This was further confirmed via Crystaldiscinfo which confirmed Slot 1 transfer mode was indeed Gen3x4 and that of slot 2 was Gen3x2.

To investigate further, checked the motherboard (Dell 06KTVX) PCI slot capability using HWiNFO and it revealed the following info:

PCI version supported: V3.0

Motherboard slots:

  • 2-off Gen3x1 (Wifi card + some other device?)
  • 1-off Gen3x2 (NVMe M.2 Slot 2)
  • 1-off Gen3x4 (NVMe M.2 Slot 1)
  • 1-off Gen3x16 (processor)

Actual screenshot below:

Does this mean the spec sheet is incorrect? Am I misinterpreting anything?

I am an onwer of Inspiron 5510 and I can confirm that slot 1 is indeed Gen3x4.

I am not aware of slot 2 though.

Also, there is one more error in the spec sheet which is Dell is selling the Inspiron 5510 with Wifi 6 (Intel AX201) and Bluetooth 5.1 but the spec sheet says bluetooth 5.2 for Intel AX201 column

Update=Resolved- I updated my BIOS to version 2.6.1 released yesterday and the problem of virtualization not enabling is gone now. now virtualization can be successfully enabled in the BIOS.

Hi Mayank,

I am a bit confused.

How is enabling virtualisation a solution to my query?
