Excessive power and CPU usage for Intel(R) Proset/Wireless Services on Inspiron 5570 after Win10 update KB4511552

Try installing these Driver Updates then try to update W10 again.

im having the same problem but with the inspiron 15 7000

the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Event Log Service

                                            &

the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless Zero Configure Service

these two are causing a high power usage

does the solution below work for this?

I have the same problem, my notebook is 5570, and resolve by installing Intel 3160/3165/7260/7265 WiFi Driver then use the repair option. but don't update the windows 10 again. still wait for 1909 update, i hope it will solve this cpu usage issue

My  Intel PROSet/Wireless Zero Configure Service is also using excessive CPU (like 25%)

my laptop:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-8550U CPU @ 1.80GHz

Operating System: Windows* 10 Home (10.0.18362)

Exact scenario with my Dell XPS 13 2 in 1.  Dell was no help at all.  Do you think the procedure listed will work for the XPS 13?

Dell was no help at all...they just wanted to charge me for a solution that their update created.  I was able to resolve the issue by updating the PROset drivers directly from Intel.

I have the same problem. My laptop is running on excessive power since I updated it yesterday. Please help. How do I resolve this? Laptop info:

I have the same problem with Lenovo L580 so it is not product related but WIN10 update issue

I had the same problem on my Inspirion 15 7K, just turning wifi of and on solved the problem.

It is running for 30 min. now at 50% (+/- 5%).
The CPU usage is 100%
I have Windows 10 v. 1909 (Build 18363.836) on a DELL Latitude 7480.

The DELL drivers are up-to-date.

I have the same issue that just started today (11/28/2020) on my Inspiron 5758.with both the Intel Proset Wireless Zero Configuration Service as well as the Intel Proset Wireless Event Log Service.  Both processes are using at least 55% of my CPU.  Another process I've never noticed before "The Local Authority Security Service" is using another 15-18%. 

My most recent Windows 10 Update was November 10, 2020—KB4586781 (OS Builds 19041.630 and 19042.630)

My fan is running hard and loud.

Will installing these same Drivers as recommended following this earlier Windows update in 2019 help with my recent issues?
