How to turn off Dell update notifications?
I currently have the Dell Update app popping up on my screen and telling me there is an important update, which shows me there is a BIOS update when I click on the notification details.
There are 2 options I can click on which are 1. Install 2. Remind me later
I don't want to install the BIOS update because the last time this happened, I finally got tired of clicking remind me later, and then chose to install and had to deal with multiple problems I didn't have prior to the BIOS update. I'm currently back to not experiencing problems and would like to keep it that way and then if I do run into a problem, I'll install the BIOS update when it's that time.
So how do I turn this app off, or adjust any settings to turn these constant notifications off so that it stops popping up on my screen and telling me there's an update available?

So not a lot of options here to adjust. Install or continually press on Remind me later, where every 10 minutes I get reminded which is annoying.

I'd suggest uninstalling Dell update tool and reinstall the latest Dell update( Version: 1.9.60.0 ,A00 ) from your Dell Product Support page.

If you're still having problems after installing Dell update tool, I suggest using Dell Support Assist tool on system. Just type Support Assist onto the search box, you should see the dell tool now. In Support Assist, you can turn on and off any notifications(BIOS). Please click on link below for additional information.

DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON
the BIOS update fried my motherboard which Dell did not accept responsibility for. I was essentially coerced in paying them to replace the motherboard and when I get the machine back the first thing that pops up is the BIOS update

I was starting to get this on my Dell Inspiron 3847. I attempted the install (2 of 2). One being the actual Bios Upgrade and the other an Optional. After install started, It was continuing for a LONG time. I canceled! Luckily the Bios Upgrade did not install and I still had the original Bios after cking System and BIOS date. Read up on this and nearly every article said DON'T DO IT ! The only way to stop the Reminder/Notification was to UNINSTALL the Dell Update Program in the list of Programs.... Just Select and click Uninstall, then OK thru to Uninstall... NO MORE NOTIFICATIONS !
