Inspirion 3585 screen light issues
So my laptop screen isn't useable at the moment because the screen isn't lit up. I can barely see what's on the screen with a flashlight. I think its a problem with the backlight of the screen or something. Does anyone know how to fix the screen?

One of two things is faulty: the backlight itself, or the circuit that powers the backlight. Without changing parts, it's just not going to be possible to tell. Either the screen needs to be replaced, or the mainboard does.

This system isn't that old - it should still be under warranty, so start with a call to Dell support. They'll arrange a diagnostic session and a repair.
