Inspiron 15 7000 2-in-1 Microphone issue

I have an issue with my internal Microphone that it has "disappeared" and does not work any longer, after I turned my computer off overnight.  The only way i can access a microphone on the laptop now for any calls (Teams, Zoom etc..) is with an external device.   I have tried to trouble shoot it a number of times, and have no solution.  It seems to have a mind of its own and this is the second time in 3 months this has happened.  There appears no logical reason or solution.  I am now dialing into calls via laptop and mobile phone to make it work,.... help appreciated!
