Inspiron 17 3721 Four Beeps on booting

Hi I have a Inspiron 17 3721 and it suddenly start to fail to boot up, and is emitting four beeps pause four beeps etc. Display is normally totally blank, occasionally get the Dell logo for a second then it dies and beeps. Am I right in thinking this is a memory read/write issue ? As I have read this for the four beep error with the 5721 model. Thanks Leslie

Yes, Dell documentation states "RAM Read/Write Error".

First step, reseat the memory (with it powered off, unplug then plug back in the memory).

Second, If you have more than one memory module installed, try one at a time in case one of the memory modules is bad.

Third, do a CMOS Memory (BIOS) reset.  With it powered off, open the case and remove the CR2032 coin cell battery on the motherboard for 10 minutes.  Reinstall, power on and see if this helps.

Finally, you are down to either defective memory or motherboard.
