Inspiron 17 5759 HDD upgrade to Samsung 860 EVO SSD

I am replacing the HDD in my Inspiron 17 5759 with a Samsung 860 EVO SATA SSD.  I used the Data Migration tool from Samsung to clone 860 EVO from the existing HDD running Window 10.  I swapped the disk out with the newly cloned 860 EVO.  My laptop it does not boot up instead a screen comes up and says it can not find bootable file.  However if I connect the 860 EVO to an USB port and boot system from the USB port directly, Window 10 booted up normally.  My BIOs is up to date.

I have also tried an alternate method by backing up a full system image to USB drive with a rescue CD.  Boot from the rescue CD and do a fresh install of system image onto the newly installed SSD. I receive disk error and was unable to recovery from system image backup.

Can anyone help?

Try using Macrium Reflect Free. Many people report success.

Yes, try Macrium Reflect Free. I originally tried MiniTool Partition Wizard and it's similar clones and had boot issues as well as system partitions not being formatted correctly.

Make sure you copy all the partitions from the original drive and not just the C: partition. You'll need the EFI system partition in order to boot.

OMG!  It worked.  "Macrium Reflect Free" was truly free for thirty days.  I downloaded the software and cloned my 2GB HDD to 1GB Samsung 860 EVO.  Swapped the drive.  Magically it worked.  The Data Migration software provided by Samsung did not not work.  It migrated partitions in the wrong order.  Thank you very much for your suggestion.
