Inspiron 3541, Issue external hdd removal

Dell Inspiron 3541, Windows 8.1 do not give eject option for safe removal of usb external hdd and showing faded drive name on clicking bottom tray safe removal toolbar icon. Each time have to pullout usb straightaway with doubts in mind about safety.

Never remove the drive without waiting until you are sure it is not being used. Close any open windows or programs. Some drives have power buttons that allow you to turn the drive off. Use that if your drive has one.

Hi ,

Agree to suggestion reply of Mary G, but could not implement as not being aware of power button of drive and it's application. Just adding one more information, using WD 320 GB Scorpio blue 5400 rpm hdd previously used in old laptop after full format & creating two partition in external enclosure. Currently using for data storage only. Shall appreciate any suggestions with step by step application layout.
