Inspiron 3585, Firmware 11/20/2018 1.0.0.0?
Hello all,
Last week I successfully updated the BIOS in my machine to Ver 1.10.0 9/20/22 that I believe is the latest for my machine. When I look at Windows Update > Advanced options > Optional updates I see a firmware update available named Dell, Inc. - Firmware - 11/20/2018 12:00:00 AM – 1.0.0.0. I have looked on the Internet and cannot find any reference to this optional update. Can anybody advise what it is for. Not sure if to install or not?

Hi, thank you for your information. I installed Win11 to see what it was like, I'm not sure if I like it or not. I will be going back to Win10 untill it is no longer supported by Microsoft and then use it for a Linux box as this machine runs well on LinuxMint. I will not install the old Firmware.

First, the Inspiron 3585 drivers page states that Windows 11 is not validated by Dell. "The Microsoft requirements for Windows 11 are not supported on this device.".
Second, since you have installed the latest BIOS update 1.10.0, do not install an older BIOS.
Third, I do not see a BIOS 1.0.0.0 11/20/18. I see BIOS 1.0.0 6/20/19. So not sure why Windows Optional updates is telling you this?
