Inspiron 5555

I have an Inspiron 5555. When I turn it on I see a very brief flicker on the screen (fan and other items appear to be working (I can hear the sounds). I have tried to open the system. Underneath the Keyboard there are three cables (pg 38 Service Manual) one is the BACKLIGHT cable port. Mine does not have the cable itself AND I am not even sure I need this cable. I am trying to find out the specific motherboard for this system so I can see where the two ends of the backlight cable attach. I can see the attached port under the keyboard but NOT the other end. Can anyone help Thanks

Welcome to the Dell Community  @juricta1957

If your keyboard is back-lit then you would connect it there???

Try this.

Remove your Main Battery.

Remove the Base Cover.

Disconnect the CMOS/BIOS battery.

Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds.

Connect the AC adapter and try to power-on.

May take pushing the power button 3-4 times.

Best regards,

U2

I tried what you suggested. Still no video. The internal guts are working as I can feel and hear them but no video. I may have to replace the video cable to see what happens. I now need to find the part number for that cable thanks for your suggestion taj
