Not sure about that specific release for that specific system, but BIOS updates only address Spectre. Meltdown is a software-only fix that requires only an OS update to fix. That fix is available for Windows 10 in the January 2018 update, but I don't know if fixes are available for older versions yet. Microsoft said that older versions required more extensive architectural changes and therefore may take more time to get patched, but I haven't kept up on whether that's been done.
However, if you want to check whether your BIOS is patched to deal with Spectre, this is Microsoft's official page for checking your system's hardware and software mitigation status.
I have the subjected model laptop... after recent BIOS update, Windows 10 goes to sleep when I issue shutdown command. Does any one know of a fix for that?
Do not install BIOS 1.5.3, it will crash your PC. I have BIOS 1.5.3 about 16 hours and it has crashed my PC two times (light turquoise death screen). I'm going to roll back to BIOS 1.4.0

What is going on, Dell?
Where the BIOS 1.4.0 was gone?
If you have deleted references to BIOS updates, please, do it and for other pages too.
Check Inspiron 7567:

A new BIOS 1.5.3 is released - http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=KX8XM
The installer file does not have certificate signature at all - "best" service Dell.

Additionaly I have provided minidump file and its analize results from WinDbg.
But Dell support deletes my post about problem information.
They are interested in more users with crushed BIOS.

I can't guarantee I can find the problem but I may see something.
