[Inspiron 7577] Wi-fi not locating after Windows 10 update

Hi,

My Inspiron 7577 has just installed a Windows 10 update (KB4490481), it had "Dell" in its explanation text so I'm assuming it was an update dispatched by Dell.

After update and restart, the wi-fi adapter has stopped locating connections. I have disabled/re-enabled the wi-fi adapter with no luck.

Is this a known issue? Will there be a fix to this and how can I install it? I think this was a driver update, which broke my wi-fi adapter.

Thanks.

Are you using the Windows Insider version of Win 10?  What I can find this update is for the fast ring.  There can and will be problems with Insider versions.  Suggest you uninstall that KB and see if works OK.  There are reports on the tenforums.com of not installing the first time.

UNINSTALL that KB4490481 update ASAP!

Microsoft has recently issued a revised KB4490481 update in the release preview ring earlier today April 1 that contains build 17763.404 instead of build 17763.402, which has some bugs.

Again, uninstall the KB4490481 update and wait sometime later this April for Microsoft to publicly deliver that update again which should have 17763.404 instead of build 17763.402.  KB4490481 is not quite ready for a wide release yet.

Thank you fireberd, deleting the KB's and quitting the Insider program by itself did not fix it, but then I re-installed the Wi-Fi driver and it's working now.

Thanks erpster, yeah I might have dodged a bullet when fireberd warned me about it. I have deleted it now.
