Inspiron G3 15 3590, hinge broken, #3

My G3 3590 laptop is now 6 months and 24 days old. I can’t believe its screen hinge got broken with a simple action like closing the laptop. I even got several screws just dropping out from the laptop.

Is there any way to fix this during quarantine time? Anyone I could contact?

Thank you so much for any suggestions, advices...

(I attached some pictures to show how weird it is...It's a brand new laptop!!)

Hey! Same thing happened to me literally last week! 5/05/2020 I bought this computer in November so I’ve only had it 6 months! After numerous calls with dell support and having them try and tell me that I did this on accident I finally got approved for a mail in fix! I’ve read other forums where people said that dell is trying to bill people for this repair but I haven’t heard anything yet....I just sent it in  last week. I just simply tried to close the laptop when it made this horrible creaking sound and the same 4 screws came out and these metal prongs! If you ask me this is a bad design flaw! Hopefully with this repair they use better material and a less resistant hinge unlike hard metal prongs in the middle of a cheap plastic exterior to repair the hinge so I don’t run into this again. Otherwise I love this laptop! I was leery about this center hinge from the minute I bought this laptop

I’m having the same issue. This laptop is only 2 months old and my screen has begun to separate at the corner where the hinge is broken.

Mine is probably getting to this stage as it started cracking open every time I closed it a few months ago maybe, mine now does it every time I open it or close it, and the but under the screen that has the 'DELL' text always comes unstuck and I can see the stuff inside and screws do look loose, can you still use your laptop or did it completely break and does the monitor come completely off? I'm worried about mine rn

Mine still worked but if you PM one of the user names with Dell in the title they can get it fixed for you. They sent a box to my house next day.

Same thing here, there's been multiple claims of this problem happening and multiple claims of Dell either not giving a  or doing bad customer service by saying "it's not included in the warranty", so at what point does a design flaw that is their fault become something we can sue them for if they make no visible in actions in multiple months of trying to fix this problem. This should be illegal god damnit

I'm having the same issue since last month.  I haven't even had the laptop for 6 months.  I would like to figure a way of getting this fixed.  this part seems to be faulty.

They’ll fix it but they’ve had mine for a month and don’t have the parts so just waiting......

Same here. My laptop suddenly started to cringe while closing and now the left hinge is broken. Disappointed with Dell product. I am hoping they get it fixed free of cost. I am still within warranty period.

I have the same problem, out of nowhere my laptop's hinges broke and I dont understand how or why, the laptop is new basically, I got it around March and the use has been gentle and its been well taken care of. It's both enfuriating and disappointing to have spent so much money on a laptop that suddenly wants to fall apart.hing g3 dell.jpghinges dell g3.jpg
