The panel should pop out quite easily, but may be held in place by plastic clips. Once the panel is removed and the hinge is exposed, you can tighten the screws on the hinge, and reassemble the laptop. If the hinge is still loose, then the laptop hinge may be damaged, and should be replaced by a professional.
Hello I have the exact same problem, I find it hard to get in contact with dell. Can anyone recommend who I should contact to bring the laptop back as it started off clicking and now is getting worse.
I've been in contact with their customer care service... They replied me in whatsApp chat and after raising the complaint within 2 weeks they came to my house and repaired it....
My 7542 did the same thing. That computer was 6 years old, and I had already replaced a bad screen that developed horrible vertical lines. I had tightened the hinge screws before, but this time, there was no fix for me. Plastic fatigue meant the screws could not anchor to anything any more.

Brenda 8,
Update = After completing troubleshooting, a DELL-Cares agent setup a part replacement with collect and return service.

I have exactly the same issue like you everytime opening my laptop there is a popping sound and the margin panel of the monitor is coming up.
There must be a problem with the hinge
