Our Dell experience
My wife and I are both retired. We currently have 5 computers.
- My primary one is a hardy old 2012 Dell Inspiron 660 desktop, which I have had for years and love.
- I also have a Dell laptop, which I use in the motor home and for travel. It's also been great.
- We have a ? year old semi retired Dell desktop with Windows XP which has always served us well and we still occasionally use.
- My wife has a Toshiba laptop as a secondary computer which was purchased in 2013. It also has served us well and continues to do so but is larger and quite heavy for her.
- Her present curse, our newest computer is a Dell Inspiron 13" 7000 desk top, The DELL from Hades was purchased from Best Buy in late May or early June of 2018. It was
purchased to replace a 2013 Toshiba laptop which weighed a ton. I also needed to have
Microsoft Publisher to fulfill job requirements. Initially it served its purpose. However, for the
past year it has been the Dell from Hades. It will randomly reboot which loses whatever you are
working on. The screen will freeze. The only way to unfreeze the screen is to turn the
computer off which also loses whatever is being worked on. In the past few months there have
been three Blue Screens of Death with codes of Clock Watchdog Timeout (3 times since April
24) , FLTMGR.SYS, and a third one with Kernel Mode Heap Corruption in it. We purchased a support contract with Dell on 6/19/2020. Since that time, I have talked with Sanjeev Arora, Rajab, Rishav, Mani
Ujjwal, and Karan R. The computer was totally wiped out and Window10 was reinstalled.
There have been many screen freezes and random reboots since then. When I last talked to
Karan R on 6/29/20, the computer had behaved for about 18 hours and he said he was going to
close my service. After the service contact was closed, it has random rebooted, the screen has
frozen multiple time. I now get the message “Recovery It looks like Windows did not load
correctly” I did updates on 7/1/2020 through Support Assist. The update for Qualcomm loaded
fine but the update for AMD did not and I get error code 186. The Dell from Hades is now only
good for five minutes max. I have a very expensive piece of garbage for which I paid $99 for
Dell to make worse. To say that I am an unhappy customer is an understatement.
To make a long story short, my wife now refuses to have another Dell. As a retired O.R. Nurse, Asst. Manager, OR- IT, computer/video specialist, and Navy Aviation Electronics Tech., I have to agree with her. It just not the same in good old Round Rock any more. Well, HOOK-EM-HORNS!

I don't know if the "wise" people of Dell tech support suggested this or not, but I would run Dell Diagnostics .

Maybe take it to a local computer repair shop for an estimate to get it working right? Something sounds like it is some how corrupt??
