Could you please post the model number of your system?
Are we talking about the Windows password to run Windows? Or are you talking about the BIOS password when you first boot the system to allow access to the computer?
If the BIOS password then you will have to call Dell tech support and after verifying that you are the owner of the system, they can help.
If the Windows 10 password, and depending on which version of 10 you have, the following link offers more information.

Hello, I haven't used my computer in about a year and I forgot the password so someone on Facebook told me to take out the memory chips and put them back in and then the problem will go away, since I took the chips out now it's giving me a new problem that says memory has changed, I don't know what the heck to do I switched the memory cards around back and forth to see if that would work well it didn't, Iwas grounded out and the table that was working on the computer was grounded, so there's no static so I don't know what happened. Can. anybody help I really appreciate it thank you and this is a Dell inspirion 1705E thanks.

Read the posts in the following forum thread. The fix is mentioned along with other helpful information. And I really don't think that you damaged the motherboard or you would not post or get to the RAM message.

@Bozz8 Try reseating the RAM modules.
