Vertical colored lines on my dell Inspiron 15 - 5000

Hello,

So I have been noticing these multi colored vertical lines on my screen out of the blue. I barely used my laptop and I do not recall doing any damage to the laptop. I also notice that changing brightness does not affect the actual brightness on my laptop, it is stuck at somewhat 80% I believe. I tried screen casting to my google chromecast on my TV and I do not see the same lines on my TV. I tried booting my pc with F pressed and I see the colors but I also see the lines on there and a very loud beeping sound continued until I forced shut as I could barely see what was beneath the lines. I would really appreciate any help on this. Do you think this is a damage done to the screen or something to video card or the cord under there? Thanks for taking time to read this.

What is the exact model of your system as 5000 is a series but not an exact model number. If you did not see the lines on the TV it is possible the laptop screen is defective. Have you tried connecting to an external monitor. That would confirm the GPU is working fine. You could open the system and check the LCD cable to make sure it is firmly connected and not damaged.
