"No bootable devices" Inspiron 7559

Hi,

Today I was using my laptop and it suddenly freezed. It was freezed for a minute and then the blue screen with Windows logo on it appeared, saying that some error occurred. Then it said  "SupportAssist is running a scan to detect potential harware problems." Scan didn't found any and when I tried to restart laptop it said "No bootable devices". It does it every time and I can only click Shutdown. Windows 10 is operating system.

First question:  what is your boot device (hard drive, SSD, cached hard drive)?

Second question:  go into setup.  Is the boot device showing there?  Or does it show not installed?

1. The SSD is the boot device

2. How do I go into setup? There is only Shutdown button

Power on and press F2 a few times immediately.

I’m having the exact same issue. Was working fine yesterday. I get home to use it and see the same message and can’t get past the supportassist screen.  I can’t even get to the BIOS screen anymore.

When I press f12 while I'm  on" no bootable devices "screen it shows bios errors and latest error is BIOS Error (2) . Does it mean something?

So I went to another PC in my home and created a media repair on a USB drive from this site:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

I can at least see some options for repair but nothing working so far. Better than the no bootable devices screen.

When F12 and F2 were pressed after the notebook is turned on, no bootable devices is shown. How can it be solved?

@Victoria20201104  Usually this means the hard drive has gone bad.

If the hard drive is bad, the solution is finding dell technician to change the component ? Is it possible to solve by myself? Besides, how can I get back my files stored in notebook?

@Victoria20201104

the service manual is here : https://dl.dell.com/topicspdf/inspiron-15-7559-laptop_service-manual_en-us.pdf

I am not sure whether you have the SSD, the HDD or both.

To retrieve files from the HDD, you would need a USB-to-SATA adapter cable.

To retrieve files from the SSD, you would need a USB-to M.2 adapter cable. https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-3-0-to-NGFF-M-2-B-Key-SSD-Adapter-Card-External-Caddy-Case-Enclosure-Box/363153782568

removing the back cover shouldn't be hard; there are Youtube videos
