Add H400 gen6 nodes to S200 cluster
Hi all,
I am looking for the procedure to add H400 gen6 nodes to an existing S200 cluster.
In Solve Desktop I don't find it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !

Yes, first change the default file pool policy to the new node pool, and then you can kickoff a manual pass of a smartpools job. You must also consider how and when you add the new network interfaces into the smartconnect pools. There is a method and order to that as well but you should see that in the procedure generator for any cluster refresh.

Step 1. Physically rack and cable them.
Step 2. Ensure that OneFS on the older nodes is at the level of the new nodes or higher. If not, upgrade it.
Step 3. Add the nodes via the front panel, or the WebUI, or the CLI as you would any other node.
That's the dime-store version of the procedure.

Some important additions:
You have to update first all Gen5 nodes to the latest node firmware package (10.1.2).
And the cluster must be on OneFS 8.1.0.0 or newer to support new Gen6 nodes.

Chris, Phil,
Thank you for your quick answer !
Ok for the firmware package and OneFS version.
after adding the new nodes, how to migrate data to new nodes and smartfail the S200 ?
only modifying the rule to point to H400 nodes and after that smartfail the S200 ?
