Celestica Internal Switch for ISILON

Hi ISILON Experts,

I have a few Gen 6 nodes with Celestica internal switches for 10Gb Ethernet internal switching.

However, I didn't find too much information for this switch in DELL EMC website.

Is this switch pre-configured by DELL EMC when shipped?

Do you need to connect the management interface of Celestica switch for SNMP monitoring?

Thanks,

Vincent

The internal backend switches does not need to be monitored. It is pre-configured when installed.

Hello PhilLam,

I also could not find any information in the EMC website regarding the Celestica D2024 switches.

Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding of "pre-configured" is that it is factory-configured, and that
user configuration on the switch is not possible. Also, in terms terms of functionality, it is like the infiniband switch.

If the above is not correct?
1. Can the configuration file be backed up in case of replacement?
2. Can the switch be accessed to run any commands?
3. Do I need a license to operate the switch?

Thank you.

Hi,

Thanks for your question. It is preconfigured and any changes need to be done by phone support. Backup should be part of the cluster backup. There are commands that support can use if troubleshooting is required.

Let us know if you have any additional questions.

Hello DELL-Josh Cr

Thank you for responding to my inquiry.

Can you provide me with documents to deepen
my understanding of the product?
I am talking about installation guide,
configuration and management guide and also
the command reference guide for the operating system.

Thank you.

These pages have documents that cover most of the Isilon product options. https://dell.to/3xXQsw7 and

@jessieobioma , they are like the infiniband backend switches, they are considered black boxes. So they do not have any thing that you are talking about.

I am talking about installation guide,
configuration and management guide and also
the command reference guide for the operating system.
