Configuring synciq replication for smartlock directories

Hello

We have multiple access zones configured on our cluster with Synciq replication  ( access zone level failover / failback via Superna Eyeglass )

We would like to add smartlock directories  ( enterprise  ) under one such access zone path which is already replicated via synciq 

The below EMC Documentation link says that for replicating smartlock ( Enterprise ) directories via synciq, target directories must be created first

In our case, Due to the existing sync iq policies per access zone , the target directory path is Read only .

Please can you advise how to proceed with configuring smartlock directories with replication in this case ?
