How do I upgrade my existing InsightIQ instance?
Up until the latest version 2.5, Insight IQ was deployed as a virtual machine in the OVA format. The upgrade process was to deploy a new Insight IQ OVA and then import the existing cluster data. Once the import is completed, the older Insight IQ instance could be decommissioned. On a side note, with IIQ 2.5, there are 2 options to deploy Insight IQ: ova and RPM. Please review your versions manual for the latest information.

Starting with version 2.5.1, InsightIQ is upgradable in place. So once you get to this version, you should no longer have to deploy a new instance and import the existing data.
