How to create Disk Pool

Hi,

I have 4 node (X-200) cluster where each node has 12 disk in it.

I see only 2 disk pools are created using 6 disk from each node.I would like to create 12 pools using 1 disk per pool and create 12 different directory one on each pool to physically partitioned device to achieve higher IOPS.

How can i create 12 disk pools?

I have management console of isilon. It will be great if you share steps workable in management console.

Also pool  x200_6tb_6gb:1 is unhealthy , does it showing only one disk missing or what?

isi smartpools health -v

SmartPools Health

Name                  Health  Type Prot   Members          Down          Smartfailed

--------------------- ------- ---- ------ ---------------- ------------- -------------

x200_6tb_6gb          -M---

x200_6tb_6gb:1       -M---   HDD  +2:1   1-3:bay1-6,

                                          4:bay1,3-6

x200_6tb_6gb:3         OK    HDD  +2:1   1-4:bay7-12

OK = Ok, U = Too few nodes, M = Missing drives,

D = Some nodes or drives are down, S = Some nodes or drives are smartfailed,

R = Some nodes or drives need repair

Unprovisioned drives: none

This appears to be an Isilon question.  You'll want to move this post to that forum for more visibility.

I think you are using OneFSv7.0.

Currently, you couldn't make diskpools manually.

You need to wait for feature update.

x200_6tb_6gb:1 is unhealthy because you are missing drive Node4 Bay2.

If you put back the healthy disk to the drive, it will recover.

You might consider rethinking that strategy after checking out

the Ask the Expert: Isilon Performance Analysis thread;

John from EMC/Isilon gave a great explanation on how disks

are uniformly used in the cluster.

Disk pools are configured automatically by the system and the default is 6 disks pools. You can not create a 1 disk, 2 disk pool at this time but this will change with the next release of 7.0.2 by the end of the third quarter.

Hope this helps!
