10GBase-SR SFP Module are multi-purpose optical modules for 10Gb/s data transmission applications at 850nm, 1310nm and 1550nm. Fiber Type are MMF, and you can use Duplex LC Connector Interface, Hot Pluggable. If this is helpful, please help to mark it. Thanks.

Hi Koppuru,

X200 supports a 10GbE external network. Before you can configure a node to wrok with a 10G external network, you should add the node to the rack, install the drives and front panel, and then connect the internal and external networks.

For internal networks, a node uses an infiniBand cable to connect the internal port to the network switch.  For the external networks, the ethernet cable connects the node to the cluster's external network.

Optical Twinax cables or LC cables if SFPs are available from both ends, there is a comprehensive list of cables and SFPs supported, the easiest way is to tell us which SFPs or Twinax you are running, I ll be able to let you know if its compatible or not. (Credit for Andrew Chung on the list).

Thanks,

Ned

Initlal setup is completed.. Now we are replacing 1G external ports with 10G external Ports.

What type of cable should be used to connect these 10G external ports to Ethernet switch

Hi Koppuru,

10GbE supports both copper and fiber cabling. However, due to its higher bandwidth requirements, higher-grade copper cables are required: category 6a or Class F/Category 7 cables for links up to 100m. The 10 gigabit Ethernet standard encompasses a number of different physical layer (PHY) standards. A networking device may support different PHY types through pluggable PHY modules, such as those based on SFP+.

we are going to install ports with 10GBase-SR SFP Module..

what kind of cable can be used here ?

Appreciate if you can provide any technical documentation on this.
