2015 XPS13 track pad behaving erratic, unpredictable

I bought this XPS13 lap top in Feb 2015, I love it except for the track pad. 90% of the time I use the trackpad it randomly selects things, or doesn't respond to clicks. IT also jumps around the screen, engages unwanted hotkey commands. I use this for writing software, I go to select a single line of code and I get some unwanted result like the scaling of the type size or even deleting what I select. This thing has a mind of it's own. I resigned my self to using a mouse but I really want to resolve this issue, its a brand new laptop.

Hi danagamer123,

I would suggest you to update the BIOS, chipset and touchpad driver in sequence for issue resolution. Please enter your service tag # on the link below and click on ‘Get drivers and downloads’ then select the appropriate operating system and download the BIOS from BIOS section and touchpad driver from ‘Mouse, Keyboard & Input Devices’ section onto the system and install it.

Please let me know if this helps.

That seemed to help a lot. Thanks!
