714wc motherboard upgrade

hi if i bought a xps l502x 714wc motherboard could i use my Socket G2 (rPGA988B) i7-2640m in that board?

It's not entirely clear what you're doing, but it if's replacing an integrated board with the nVidia, you will need to replace the heatsink assembly and verify that you have a 90W or higher AC adapter (the 65W unit works fine with Intel video but won't with nVidia).

The assembly for the nVidia board has a separate heasink for the GPU, whereas the Intel version just has a heatsink over the CPU.

If you have an XPS L502x system that currently has discrete video, yes.  If you currently have another model -  no, the board won't fit any other chassis.  And if you currently have the version of the system with an Intel GPU, you'll need a new heatsink assembly and possibly a higher-capacity power adapter to move to this board.  The CPU will work with this board.

Hi ejn63 i used HWiNFO64 and it lists the intel GPU as being intergrated but it dosn't list that information for the Nvidia GT 525M.
