8 beeps on dell inspiron 15r n5110 but display is still working fine

I am using dell inspiron 15r n5110, when i start the system, sometimes it starts after 8 beeps twice.

I read about beep codes and it says display may be causing that warning code. But my display is working fine except it has line stretched from top to bottom at right side.

Please help me know the real issue causing the problem. The beeps doesn't occur on each startup it happens randomlly.

Hi

Welcome to the Dell Community Forum.

The Dell Inspiron N5110 might emit a series of beeps during start-up if the LCD cannot display errors or problems. The 8 beeps on this model indicate an LCD failure as you mention that you do see a stretched line from top to bottom at the right side.

However, I suggest you to try connecting a known good external monitor and check if you see the lines (If available).

You may also try running a hardware diagnostics by holding the FN key and pressing the power button.

Make a note of the error codes that appear (if any).
