AC Power Supplies D630 XPS15 E6400

Hello,

I have a 90W AC Power Adaptor from a D630 that I no longer am using.  I have an E6400 with 2 power supplies one a full-size 130W (PA-4E Family, used for the dock) and a slim line 90W power adaptor (PA-3E Family).  The specks are identical to the D630 power supply (PA-10 Family). The XPS came with a 130W (PA-4E) that is the same as the E6400's.  There is a 90W available from dell for the XPS 15 also (same part number as the E6400). The specs on both the D630 90W and the E6400 90W power supplies are:

Input,  100-240V ~ 50-60 Hz 1.5A

Output 19.5V(19.5V) 4.62A(4.62A)

+ on both is the center pin, - is the outer ring and both the same size.

The question is can I use the D630 PA-10 power supply to power either the XPS or the E series seeing how the output specs are the same?

Thanks

Hello,

The connections to the laptops are the same so there isn’t an issue using the other power adapter.  The plugs internal to the laptops are the same so you are good there as well so you shouldn’t have any issue.

Let us know how it goes.
