AC power adaptor help please
When i turn laptop on I get the message
AC power adaptor wattage and type cannot be determined and the lap top advises me to reset the power adaptor, I cannot find anything on the lap top about the ac adaptor onloy the battery life etc. I took the power lead which came with the laptop to PC world and they said that there was running power through the ac adaptor. But the lap top is not charging? Can anyone advise. Thanks

It could be a faulty adapter - first step -- is it a Dell adapter? If it's not, that's the problem - third party adapters don't complete the logic circuit.
If it IS a Dell adapter, then try another Dell adapter -- either borrow one or buy a new one.
If that doesn't solve the problem, the mainboard needs repair or replacement.

What Kind of laptop?
What Kind of adaptor? PA-10 PA-13 PA-15?
Only Dell Adaptors will charge the battery.
Batteries die. When that happens they will not take a charge again ever.
