ACPI support on linux

Question

Hallo,

I am using a CPx laptop with linux (kernel 2.4.20).
Unfortunately ACPI implementation seems not to support
dell laptops fully. I have then two questions:
1. Is anybody here aware of some dell specific kernel paches
to make ACPI work properly ?
2. Is it possible to get somewhere precisie technical specification of ACPI
used in dell laptops (especially CPx series) ??

There is a module named dell_i8500 (or the like) under general setup in the kernel setup. This worked wonders for my D800, so it should be worth a try... Morten
