ATI Mobility RADEON X300

Hi,

I bought a Dell Inspiron 6000 with 64MB ATI Mobility RADEON X300 WXGA, It is allowing me the max resolution of 1280 X 800, Is there a way that I can increase the resolution. How can I get the latese driver.

Thanks,

vbadba

Depending on the screen you got when your ordered the LT, it won't let you increase the resolution beyond the native.

If you want a higher resolution get another LCD or system.

Also LCD's don't run well except at native so the image with look bad at best.

Hi jankerso,

Thanks for your reply, I tried to increase the resolution and the display setting is taking but the LCD is scrolling up and down, it is not displaying the complete screen.

Thanks,

Looks like WXGA (1280 x 800) is the native res so that is what you will have to use.

Yo, ah, that is the max resolution of a WXGA as far as I can tell. Actualy I think it's 1333 x 768 or something like that...

I found a driver on ATI website and It is allowing me to select higher resolution than 1280 X 800 but the problem is with the WXGA, it's max disply resolution is 1280 X 800. When I select higher resolution the screen is scrolling I can do page up and down and screen moves up and down.. Is there a way to increase the display resolution of WXGA?

Thanks,

edit your Xorg.conf file if need be to use a non-standard widescreen resolution.  My 6000 looks best at 1680 x 1050.

Like i said, i am running right now at 1680 x 1050 with my Dell Inspiron 6000D...DNA drivers work the best and about you being on WINDOWS 2000, same drivers work for that OS as XP.

Good luck!  0rk0
