Advanced pattern test fail
When I carried out the Dell system check it failed on 'Advanced pattern test'.What is this to do with please? It it the second time it has happened. I spent over an hour on the phone last month with a Dell technician fixing the same error.Any advice please. I rebooted and carried out the test again with same result.

Was this the memory test? If so, record which module (1 or 2) produced the error and swap the two. Then re-test. If the error follows the module, that module is bad; replace it. If it sticks to the same socket with the other module in it, replace the mainboard; the socket is bad.

Help me out here. I have same problem with memory test on new Inspiration 2330 but know nothing about modules and sockets. What is it I should do?

Hello Kpb22,
In order to assist you, I would request you to let me know if you have got any error message. I would also like to know which test did you run.
Awaiting your response!

Unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall the memory modules. Run the test again - if you get a failure, note which module failed and then swap the two (exchange sockets). If the error follows the module when you re-test, replace that memory module with a new one. If it sticks to the same socket with the other module, it's the socket that's bad and you'll need to replace the system board.

I also failed the Advance Pattern Test on my Dell N5110 Inspiron. Error code was WME02-IKE. No idea what this is or how to fix it.
