Airplane Mode
I have an Inspiron 5735 (M731) and can't get the Airplane Mode to turn off. Have spent several hours with tech support and reinstalled all the drivers. have even done a system restore (keeping my data file) sill the switch is grey'd out.
I read on another list that the problem may be caused by a physical switch on the unit. Anyone know if Dell has a REAL switch on their laptops to turn Airplane Mode On and Off ?
Thanks!

I had the same problem with an Inspiron 15. There is a soft key that looks like a transmitting tower - that turned off the airplane mode manually. I could not do it otherwise. Good luck.

THANK YOU so much for this uber-simple fix. I'm on an Inspiron 15 series 7000 and was going nuts...."the icon of a wireless tower" had completely eluded me...
