Alienware 17 R4 GTX 1080 Freezing, stuttering

Out of the box it would play games fine with no freezes.  Windows and Graphics drivers updated once connected to the web and then it started freezing for a couple seconds in Wildlands and Watchdogs 2.  It will also freeze in the Heaven benchmark from Unigine. It freezes for a couple seconds then will run for a couple seconds then freeze again.  The freezes become more and more frequent.

The freezes will occur in the Heaven benchmark even on lower graphics settings.

GPU Temps are 70C and under while this is happening.

What I've tried:

1. Windows reset.

2. Windows fresh install

3. Staying with previous Graphics driver

4. Disabling Geforce Sharing

The freezing is still there.
