An audio recording device cannot be found
After i reinstall Windows Vista, Home edition, i can not record sound with the internal microphone. When i open the sound recorder utility from Windows Accessories, it displays the above message box "An audio recording device cannot be found".
My laptop is Inspiron 1520.
Any help is really appreciated.

I have same problem with an XPS 420 that came installed with Vista and has had all the latest updates. It is the first time I have tries to use recording so do not know if the problem came installed or not.
I have put in a request to dell support to try and find an answer.

Wow, having the exact same problem. Hope someone can come up with an answer.
