Battery & Charger health

Is it ok to keep my laptop plugged in all the time? How about leaving it plugged while it's off? Also what about leaving the AC power plugged to the power source without the laptop? Machine: Dell XPS 15z (L511z)

Hi human1111,

There is no issue charging the laptop while it’s off, you can charge the battery for four to five hours for the first time. If the battery is charged 100% you can remove the AC adapter. Leaving the AC adapter connected all the time but the battery life will come down.

Hi human1111,

Leaving the AC adapter connected all the time without the laptop is not good, AC adapter may get faulty. You can charge the battery for four to five hours, charging too often may bring down the battery life.

So it's okay charge the laptop while it's off... But is it ok to leave the laptop off and charging too often (bedtime for example)?

And what about the AC power connected to the power source all the time even when the laptop isn't connected?
