Booting off a CD

I changed the BIOS boot order to

1) ODD Internal Device

2) Windows Boot Manager

The machine still booted into Windows off the hard drive instead of booting off of the CD.

There's almost zero chance that the CD's not bootable (it was created 2 years and hasn't been used since), but even if it isn't, shouldn't I be getting some kind of message about non-bootable media?

Sounds like you have UEFI and not BIOS.

Thanks for the reply. I confess that I didn't pay attention, and at the moment, I can't reboot to check.

Let's assume you're right. How does that explain what's happening? What's the solution?

Moderator, this reply is not for posting. I have no idea how this thread landed in Laptop, but it's supposed to be in Desktop. Could you move it, please?

Thank you.
