CPU from E6530 without nVidia GPU in E6530 with nVidia GPU?
I have an E6530 with a Core i7, without the nVidia GPU. Can I swap the CPU to replace the Core i5 in an E6530 that has the nVidia GPU?
Why I want to do this is the one with the i7 has the low end 1366x768 display. The one with the i5 has the 1920x1080, and the nVidia GPU.
I got the i7 laptop for free. Yesterday I bought the i5 one for $230 on eBay after figuring it would cost too much to upgrade both the display, mainboard and CPU/GPU cooler.

It looks like you can swap out the Processor. You can look up the step by step instructions in the PDF manual here.

It will work, but be sure to swap the power supplies as well (the one with integrated video will happily run on the 65W standard adapter - the one with an i7 and nVidia needs a 130W supply).

Worked fine. I have it setup for auto switching to the nVidia GPU, which it does for the LCD without any flicker or other visible change.
