CPU upgrade D520 Not Working....

Hi, I have a Dell D520, with the Celeron M 430 @1.73 GHz 533, I upgraded the CPU to a Core Duo T2400, 1.83Ghz 667 FSB but when i try to turn the laptop on, nothing is displayed on the screen, I hear the hard drive kick on, i see the LED power light, light up, i hear the CD drive Spin up to see if there is anything in the drive, but that is where it stops. The screen will stay black, and i can not get past this. If i put in the old CPU it will boot up no problems..

I am waiting for the other CPU a T5600. I bought 2, a T2400 and a T5600.

What should i do, and how do i get this to work? Will i have the same problem with the T5600?

I have the intel I943/940GML..

Updated BIOS to A08, also everything is seated correctly.

The seller says it should work(as non DOA), Dell says it should work,(Waited 4.5 Hrs to hear that) these forums, Yahoo forums, and google search says this should work... Thanks.

Ah so i guess i have the 940GML........ Really. :(

I took the laptop apart again, to take a look at the north bridge....

and to my horror, i read, QG82940GML.

So. How is this? I have 2.5GB of ram installed... the system properties only reads 1.99GB...
But CPU-Z reads DIMM A 2048 667 DIMM B 512 533, and read 2560MB as size, so it is being read, but i thought that the 940GML only read 2GB?

So i am returning the T2400, and the T5600 will be here Monday.. That most likely will not work, and i will also return that chip..

So, What CPU will work with this 940GML, and be a upgrade over the Celeron 430?

so, i got the T5600, and it does not work with this low quality motherboard.. so that is also getting shipped back.. Now just waiting for the Slow T1350... This thing is not upgradable at all.

So all is well. I got the T1350 Today, installed it, and all works well. The Core Solo T1350@ 1.86Ghz, 533 WILL work great. No issues, and runs Much cooler then the Celeron 430.  Also better battery life with the new CPU. So if you have a I940GML and wanna upgrade, you can use this CPU.   Just to let you guys know.........
