Can I change the graphics card/GPU for Dell latitude E5420?
If I can get an external graphics card for Dell latitude E5420 how is it connected to the laptop (USB port? Express card)

There are both USB 3.0 and ExpressCard external adapters - that said, none of these can be used with your internal screen -- they require an external monitor, effectively turning your notebook into a desktop anyway. And most are priced near where a solid, mid-range i5 or AMD FX or APU system is priced -- meaning you're better off just buying a desktop system anyway.
