Can anyone tell me what part this is?

Hi I have a Dell 14 inch touch screen 5000 series and was wondering if anyone could tell me what part this is. (attached). I think it's the inverter but want confirmation.

It can't be an inverter (these all use LED backlit screens, which don't use inverters).  It looks like a cover of some sort.

How did you get the part? Have you been inside the laptop? The repair manual doesn't show anything like the picture.

It was located right underneath the screen on the Dell Inspiron 14inch 5000 series. My screen was flickering on and off (it wasn't making a good connection) I fixed the flickering, but now the screen is really dim (perhaps the back light). This part was located right under the screen under the rounded hinge type part.

So the display was OK until you put it back together? You will need to search the web for videos on replacing the display so you can follow the procedure for putting it back together correctly. There are lots of uTube  hits for this.
