Can i upgrade the ram? inspiron 15 7000 series

I have my dell inspiron 7000 series with 2x4gb ram modules installed. I was wondering if anybody knew which types of ram i could replace it with.
If im correct the ram is pc3-2800 dd3L.
Can somebody confirm.
Also what is the max ram i can install.

From what i read online the max ram is 16gb so thats 2x8gb modules.
What exactly should i be searching for on the ram?

Hi amskhan,

The Dell Inspiron 7000 has 2 memory SODIMM slots on the system board. The system accepts a memory capacity ranging from 2GB, 4GB and 8GB. The memory type accepted is DDR3L 1600 MHz SODIMM only. The computer supports a maximum of 16GB of memory when installed with two 8GB DIMMs.

You will need search for memory with following details DDR3L 1600 MHz SODIMM

The memory is user-replaceable and easily installed - if you purchase it locally most computer shops will install it for you.

If not:

that's how it's installed.

I was told that the Inspiron 15 7000 already has one 8GB ram and I should order one additional. A comment above states that there are 2 4GB strips installed at time of purchase.

Can you please confirm if I should order 1 or 2 8GB strips?

It already has one 8 GB ddr4 ram, and one slot is empty, you can buy one 8 GB ddr4 ram compatible with dell Inspiron 7560
