Can i use 130W Dell power adapter on my Dell XPS 14z (shipped with 90W power adapter) ?
Hi support
I am using a Dell XPS 14z (L412Z) that shipped with a 90W power adapter. The adapter is now faulty and i am looking for a replacement. Instead of buying back the factory shipped 90W power adapter, can i buy a Dell 130W power adapter instead? So that it can full charge my notebook battery much more faster. Will it works? please advice..
1. This is 90W adapter. In the compatible list. It support both Dell 14z and Dell 15Z

2. This is 130W adapter for Dell 15Z. But how come it did not mentioned it is compatible or support for Dell 14Z in other way round?

You cannot use THAT 130W adapter. You can use a PA-13 or PA-15

I have an issue with power supplies from dell, being I had bought the xps/14z and had two other 90w power supplies from dell. but none of them well worked with this dell. During the warranty phase I had a few things fixed from dell over the internet and mentioned to the technician at the time that I had this problem and he went in and switch a few things around in the systems set up - I'm not sure what it was but presto it worked - so I was able to keep one at home, one at work and one in the car (I have 120v converter in the car) for out on the road trips.
But then I upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate which has the systems image option (well worth the investment !) but after that install no more using the three. Just the that came with the unit.
And since its way past its warranty phase, I don't know how to set it up again to work with the other power supplies. And I don't want to pay for a term service contract just to fix this issue when in 3 minutes It can be switched over.
Anyone out there who knows how to change it over.
