Can no longer get maximum resolution on U2713HM now that I have a new laptop E7440
Hi,
I recently got a new laptop which seems unable to drive the monitor to max resolution like my four year old laptop could.
Old setup:
Dell U2713HM monitor
Dell Latitude E6430
Dual DVI cable
Windows 7
Maximum resolution with DVI: 2560 x 1440
New setup:
Dell U2713HM monitor
Dell Latitude E7440
Dual DVI cable
Windows 10
Maximum resolution via DVI: 1920 x 1200 <-- this is the problem
Maximum resolution via DisplayPort: 2560 x 1440
The monitor only has one DisplayPort and it's usually plugged into another laptop so without constantly swapping cables I can't get the maximum resolution. I want the E7440 to achieve the maximum resolution through DVI, as it was before. The monitor, cable and docking station were capable of this with a four year old laptop so should be with a brand new one.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Chris

Unfortunately, there is no DVI port on the Latitude E7440. What are you connecting to on the computer?

Hi Jesse,
Sorry I appear to have forgotten to mention that I'm using a docking station. This is the same docking station in both "new" and "old" setups, above.
The docking station has 2 x DVI ports, connected to the monitor via a dual-link DVI cable.
Thanks,
Chris
