Computrace lojack

I bought a dell xps 15z 6 months ago. Typically I first uninstall all the trialware right away. Then I shut down all unecessary services and remove loads of entries in the registry that are starting unwanted programs. Last couple of days I noticed a program continuously making its comeback after reboot. rpcnet.exe. Now I found that there is a service called Remote Procedure Call so I looked in the services. It listed Remote Procedure Call as "C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost -k rpcss" and also Remote Procedure Call (rpcnet.exe) by computrace. I downloaded hijackthis which let me shut it off but it is persistent in coming back after reboot. Called Dell for inquiries and they said that it "comes with the package" of buying this particular Dell although I found it strange since I didn't order any such malware on my computer. Refund was out of the question and a bios that comes without the designated Computrace isn't available for commercial use. Does any of you have a clue on how to remove this unwanted software from my bios. Thanks in advance, I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me on the way. Sincerely, Ben

Hi Benka,

The following steps will help you in deactivating 'Computrace':

Shut the system down, restart it and keep tapping 'F2' key at the 'Dell splash' screen. The 'BIOS' page comes up, select 'Security' and change the 'Computrace' to 'Deactivate'

I hope this helps.

Please let me know in case of any queries.

Thanks and regards
