DDD3100 USB Cable to Laptop

I just purchased the Dell 3100 Docking Station for my Acer E15 laptop running Windows 10.  The docking station works GREAT!  It is driving 3 external monitors, ethernet, mouse, keyboard, printer, and recognizes everything perfectly  

The laptop has two USB 3.0 ports + one USB-C type port.  I am wondering if a USB-B (from the docking station) to USB-C (to the laptop) will work?  The C type USB is much easier to plug and unplug.
